…Grimani Systems is providing an all-encompassing loudspeaker, system design and calibration, and acoustical services package for the discerning audio enthusiasts. Spearheaded by acclaimed system designer and acoustician Anthony Grimani, as well as cofounder Manny LaCarrubba, who developed the CinemaOne Audio Ensemble and Conic Section Array waveguide, Grimani’s CinemaOne System is a fully networked audio system that features various active IP-addressable loudspeakers — housed in tungsten-impregnated urethane cabinets — and SA surround network adapter with 16 digital audio inputs and AES/EBU and RJ45 outputs.
The waveguide helps put every listener in the sweet spot rather than producing a typical central sweet spot; as Grimani played some gorgeous-sounding cuts, he asked listeners to stand up and walk around as part of his unorthodox (but highly effective) presentation, to hear the front speakers’ off-axis performance for themselves. The CinemaOne System can work and produce huge sound for huge rooms, while connecting DSP components and speakers via Cat 6 not only takes up little rack space but speeds up installation time.
“You can build a room for two-channel and have room for more listeners, and it holds up,” Grimani says. “Also, because it’s a fully networked system, dealers can do remote monitoring of diagnostics of the system. Do you know how many times I’ve gone to visit someone’s system and it was off because they didn’t realize a driver had blown?”
